saying good bye….

Naomi and her cousin, Elliot

Naomi and her cousin, Elliot

Saying goodbye is never easy. Feels like we’ve been saying good bye for 5 months now but this week its starting to sink in.

We’re really leaving!

As we pack up our house and close up loose ends in Montclair, we wrestle with emotions of excitement and grieving.

Naomi will especially miss her little cousin, Elliot. These two babies can light up the darkest day! :)

We’ll be loading up our moving truck starting at 8:30am on Saturday, May 30th. All are welcome! If you’ve got an hour or two to spare that morning, we’d love your help loading and cleaning. Just thought I’d put the word out! Many Many hands make work light!

Our New Home

On May 30th we’re moving into our new rental in Golden Hill! Its hard to believe this is really happening!

Less than 2 weeks of packing and saying good bye!

Everything seems to be going well with the short-sale. The original appraisal of $150,000 was reappraised a couple weeks ago at $135,000! This means the buyer had to resubmit the request to the purchase the property at the new price. Should be fine but it may take longer than we had anticipated.

Everything seems to take longer than you anticipate when you’re in the midst of a short-sale.

Our prayer continues to be for smooth sailing. If we close by the end of this month, we may not have to make our mortgage payment for May which would mean we could put that money toward moving costs and a deposit on our new home.

Yet, even if we do have to make our May payment, we trust God’s faithful provision.

Thank you for journeying with us through this transition!

APPROVED!

Just found out that the bank accepted our offer for a short sale and we’re APPROVED to move forward with selling our condo to Derek’s sister and brother-in-law!

Closing date is May 28 and we do not have to pay any additional money to the bank!

My eyes filled with tears as I got the call. We’ve been waiting a long time. It will have been 6 months since we started this process.

We’re humbled, amazed and a little stunned by the outcome of all of our waiting. Since buying the home we’ve made all our payments on time. Though we were presented with opportunities to bend the truth along the way, we’ve been completely honest with our financial situation.

God IS faithful.

THANK YOU for praying for us through this.

Recovered Car!

Our car was recovered in Mission Valley, San Diego on Tuesday night, April 28! That’s only a few miles from where it was stolen! It didn’t go far!

The police report said it had minor stripping. Of course that could mean many different things.

We decided to document our trip to the towing company so you could walk with us through the anticipation of being reunited with our beloved ‘91 Honda Civic… :)

They took everything we had left in the car, including the stereo and speakers and our floor mats!

BUT… they left a recent book I was reading, Derek’s folder full of music he’s written and Naomi’s dolly! :)

We’ve decided to be grateful for the things that were recovered and BLESS those who stole our things. Jesus lived a life of “enemy” love. He showed us how to love and bless our enemies and not curse them.

So we pray for and bless whoever stole our things and we’re glad to have our car back. :)
